The cemetery in my neighbor backyard

The few graveyards in my kampong neighbor backyard.

When I was a kid, one of the neighbor's house's backyard had a cemetery. No one visited the graves because the graves were situated in a neighbor's compound.

The persons resting in the graves were the landlords of the now Toa Payoh Estate. His children sold the land to the government.

When the government possessed the land and houses in the kampong there was a big new. The corpses in the coffins were all in good condition. It was believed that when the dead did not decay the living members will become poor.

The landlord sold the land to the government and rumor has it that their children were very poor.
